SouthLife Local Missions

Local Missions is a continually growing, adapting and challenging process. Doing Local Missions is about us following Jesus Christ’s call and lead to make disciples of all people; sharing the Gospel message with the lost world, we do this with the help of the Holy Spirit who gives to us both the wisdom and strength needed.

Therefore, Christian missions is obeying Jesus Christ:
After Jesus’s death and resurrection, He commanded the disciples to share the Gospel, the message of His redemption. “Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.  Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” (Matthew 28:19-20).

We challenge Southlife members to be mindful of being a daily witness to everyone they come in contact with throughout the journey of their day. This process will simply mean that they are to look for every opportunity to use their words, their works, or actions in any which way that will engage with others and give an authenticity to their message. Many Southlifer’s are involved in community outreach, some helping in groups that operate with in schools and other community groups:

  • School Chaplains
  • Religious Education (Bible in Schools)
  • Bible studies
  • Food Banks

We also sponsor a number of Local Missions endeavours:
  • Sports Chaplaincy
  • Revolution Tour
  • Special Combined Church Services
  • Mid-Year Christmas Meal
There is so much area for us to explore and grow in this area of Local Missions…
